Introduction to Shamanism - A 12-month Class Certification Series IN SWANSEA, MA near PROVIDENCE, RI

Each class provides a foundational building block in basic shamanic practices, introducing participants to a full range of tools, concepts, and experiences to support their spiritual growth and healing. This structure also allows students to experience and practice core shamanic techniques in a gradual and supportive way.

Participants who complete the program will receive a Certificate in Basic Shamanic Practice.

No prerequisites are required, these classes are open to everyone. You are welcome to drop in at any time; however, to qualify for the certification, attendance at a minimum of 10 out of the 12 classes is required. Classes are held on Sundays.

Times: Sundays - 1pm to 3pm

Explore the basics of shamanism, a spiritual practice rooted in connecting with the unseen world for healing and guidance. Learn core principles, including respect for all life, the interconnectedness of nature, and the role of a shaman as a bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds. This session will set the foundation for your shamanic journey.

2. The Shamanic Journey: Entering a Meditative State

February 9th

Explore the practice of journeying, a central aspect of shamanic work. Learn how to enter a meditative state to connect with spirit realms for guidance and insight.

3. Meeting Your Spirit Guides

March 9th

Connect with spirit guides who offer wisdom and protection. Discover ways to establish and maintain a relationship with these guiding spirits for support in everyday life.

4. Power Animals: Finding and Working with Animal Allies

April 6th

Understand the role of power animals as protectors and allies. Learn techniques to identify, connect with, and honor your personal power animal.

5. Shamanic Tools and Rituals

May 4th

Explore the tools commonly used in shamanic practice—such as drums, rattles, crystals, and feathers—and learn basic rituals for cleansing, grounding, and protection.

6. Healing with the Elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air

June 8th

Dive into the wisdom of the four elements, understanding how each can aid in personal healing, grounding, and balance. Practice connecting with and working with elemental energies.

7. Ancestral Healing: Connecting to Your Ancestors

July 13th

Explore the importance of honoring ancestors and understanding ancestral patterns. Learn practices for connecting with and receiving guidance from your ancestral lineage.

8. Energy Cleansing and Protection

August 10th

Discover techniques for clearing negative energy, protecting your energy field, and maintaining spiritual boundaries. Practice smudging, visualization, and other cleansing rituals.

 9. Animism: Understanding the Spirit in All Things

September 14th

Discover the concept of animism, the belief that all elements of nature—plants, animals, stones, and even places—have their own spirit and consciousness. This practice teaches us to honor and communicate with the natural world, deepening our connection to life around us.

10. Soul Retrieval: Reclaiming Lost Parts of the Self

October 12th

Explore the concept of soul loss and soul retrieval, a powerful shamanic healing practice. Learn basic techniques for identifying and calling back lost parts of your soul.

11. Creating and Holding Sacred Space

November 16th

Learn to create a sacred space for your practice, whether for personal rituals or group work. Discover techniques to open and close sacred space with intention and respect.

12. Integrating Shamanic Practice into Daily Life

December 14th

Bring together everything you’ve learned by discussing ways to integrate shamanic principles into your daily life. Reflect on your journey and set intentions for continued growth.
