About Your Instructor - Jessica Kozak Shaw

Rev. Jessica Kozak Shaw is the founder and owner of The Soul Purpose ® , LLC since she opened it in 2005. She is a Multidimensional Mystic and Master-Healer and works as a Master Healer & Teacher, Intuitive Spiritual Guide and Channel. Jessica has degrees in Management Science, Metaphysical Counseling, and Clinical Psychology with a focus in counseling. Jessica is an ordained minister/director of the Universal Brotherhood Movement since 2005 and also an interfaith minister of the Metaphysical Universal Ministry through their extensive study/training program since 2012. She has studied Toltec Shamanism and her Reiki Training goes back to the year 1999 . She is a Master Teacher of Usui, Holy Fire III Karuna, and Lightarian Reiki Lineages. Jessica trained as an Energy Medicine Practitioner and graduated from a 3-year Energy Medicine Institute. She now has a Healer Training Program she developed and is the founder of the Birch Tree Interfaith Ministry and also the Co-Founder of Cosmic Heart Reiki ® .

What is the Reiki drum technique?

Reiki drumming is a specialized method of healing that makes use of the sound waves from the drum to introduce Reiki energy more deeply into a client's energy field to facilitate deep relaxation and stress relief. As stress is relieved, tensions in the physical body are often released as well.

Level 1 & 2 Reiki is a prerequisite to joining the Reiki Drumming Practitioner training as we will be using a number of techniques from your previous learning. In this training you will focus on preparing yourself, creating sacred space, charging the drum, connecting to and honoring the drum through sacred ritual. You will receive a Reiki Drum attunement and various skills so that you can offer a Reiki Drumming Shower, Reiki Drumming Journey and a Reiki Drum Healing Session along with tools to protect yourself and offer appropriate care to your client.

Drumming for healing and meditation is an ancient practice and goes back thousands of years, the power of sound over the body and spirit is well known in tribal cultures. Scientific research confirms that drumming (even for short periods) can influence brain activity, bringing you into the meditative alpha state and can reduce stress. Study also shows that drumming can increase the production of the body’s natural painkillers and can therefore help control pain and enhance healing.
